What to Expect for Your In-Home Newborn Session

As a momma to 3 little girls myself, I truly appreciate the preciousness of the newborn stage & the importance of capturing every detail possible, as they are changing with each blink of your eye. I will come alongside you to create beautiful artwork of your growing family, all while keeping the process as simple & enjoyable for you as can be!

1. Booking

I always suggest reserving a spot for your session in the month you are due before baby arrives if possible. This assures I will have room for you in my calendar & allows more time for planning! Simply visit my Contact page & send me a message to get started!

If baby has already been born, you can head right on over to my Booking Calendar to quickly & easily view my availability & choose your date!

After you’re booked you will receive my session guide, which goes over how to prep & what to expect for our time together, as well as my styling inspiration boards & a questionnaire so I can get to know you better!

2. Planning

As our time together approaches I’ll reach out to discuss & start planning your wardrobe. Styling plays a huge roll in the overall look & feel of your images so this step is key. I know it can feel overwhelming but trust me, I am here to help you all the way through!

I have a virtual styling tool we will use to coordinate everyone, as well as a growing collection of items in my client closet that can be borrowed at no extra cost!

I have also curated a large assortment of wraps, blankets, headbands, hats, bonnets & props to be used for baby’s solo images, meaning you don’t have to worry about providing a thing!

3. Session

On session day all you need to do is get everyone dressed & ready to enjoy our time together!

Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours. This allows us the time & slower-pace needed to capture a complete gallery of storytelling images full of variety, real moments & all the details my clients love & have come to expect!

I will handle your newborn with the utmost care while I wrap & position them for their individual portraits. I promise you my patience does not run out on these little ones, so you can relax in confidence that we will get the images your heart is hoping for!

4. Delivery

After I’ve had the time needed to hand-edit all of your precious memories comes everyone’s favorite part – gallery delivery! This process can take 4-6 weeks as my editing method is very detailed & all-inclusive.

I’ll email you a link to a personalized slideshow of your images set to music that I HIGHLY recommend you watch as your first viewing experience – it ensures you give each image it’s own time of observance before moving on to the next. Plus, it’s like watching a movie replay of your session (just the best parts, I promise!) so you can feel all the feels all over again!
